Choral Music

Updated: Aug 9, 2019

As a writer, I suppose I am known most for my arrangements for orchestra and other instrumental combinations. Creating musical settings for church instrumentalists has been a passion of mine throughout my years of ministry. It's been gratifying to see a good number of these arrangements added to the catalogs of several major publishers, and to be able to offer many self-published pieces through our website.

That said, I also love good choral music; in fact, my master's degree is in choral conducting! So with that in mind, let me call your attention to our web page listing my arrangements and compositions for choir. I hope you'll check it out!

A brand-new collection I'm really excited about is the "Almost A Cappella Worship Moments" just released by Hal Leonard. This is a group of six short settings of some older worship choruses, arranged in a simple and straight-forward manner. Titles include "Be Still and Know," Bless the Lord, O My Soul," and "Jesus Is My Lord, My Master and Savior." They're called "Almost A Cappella" because there are optional piano parts included (available as free downloads when you purchase the collection). I hope you'll take a few minutes and give these a listen!

Also brand-new is an arrangement of the chorus of "God Bless America", which may be performed by a choir a cappella, or choir with keyboard. There's also a corresponding arrangement for instrumental ensemble (designed to serve either as an accompaniment or as a stand-alone instrumental). The arrangement will also work well with congregational or group singing. As always, I love to hear from fellow musicians. Please take a minute and write me your thoughts ...
